Warrawee Yes (Walner), a Grand Circuit filly last season, rebounded from a break last out with a narrow harness racing victory at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (May 25).

Warrawee Yes reaches up at the finish to win

She was away sixth for Bob McClure in a :28.1 first quarter before leading the charge first-over to the half in :57.2. She progressed steadily through the third panel, moving up to third by the time they hit three-quarters in 1:25.3.

She was still a length-and-a-half back at the eighth pole, but leader Brace For Landing (Anthony MacDonald) went off stride, leaving the battle to Warrawee Yes and No Turning Back (Tyler Jones). No Turning Back got first dibs on the lead, but Warrawee Yes snatched that gift away in the final strides, getting up to win by a head in 1:55.

Raisealittlehill (Jody Jamieson) closed from seventh to third down the stretch.

WARRAWEE YES REPLAY

Warrawee Yes is now three-for-12 lifetime with $123,044 in earnings. She competed in major stakes last year, winning an elimination of the Peaceful Way. She was third in the New Jersey Classic. She has now won two of four this season. David Drew replaced Shawn Steacy as the filly’s trainer this week for Hudson Standardbred Stable Inc., Pamela Larson, Bertrand Gilhespy Stable, and Shelly Macmillan. That made it the first win as a trainer of record since 2017 for Drew.

Also on the card, Chocolate Parfait (Muscle Mass) took her first win of the year. The mare, who won an Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots leg last year, was a three-length winner in 1:54.4., a new career best. McClure steered the four-year-old to victory for Clark Beelby, who co-owns her with Coyote Wynd Farms. The mare has five wins in $68,770 in earnings from 10 lifetime outings.

CHOCOLATE PARFAIT REPLAY

Woodbine Mohawk Park has 10 races scheduled for its next card on Friday, May 26. First post is listed as 7:00 p.m. EDT.
