The harness racing feature race of the evening at The Raceway at Western Fair District Friday evening (Nov. 4) was the Preferred Pace going for a purse of $13,000.
In the sixth race of the evening, Pembrook Legacy N (Bettors Delight) took the lead at the word āgo!ā He never looked back as he booked himself a visit to the winnerās circle. Trainer, Lorne House was in the bike for the winning mile which the duo was able to complete in 1:55.1
The nine-year-old gelding went untested in his wire-to-wire win and the real battle in the race was for second place. Prestige Seelster was able to able to hold onto second place while Kenny Joe was closing in on him but came up just short.
This was Pembrook Legacy Nās 15th career win and his 5th in 2022. The veteran pacer came from New Zealand and had started his racing career over there. He moved to Canada in 2020 and has been doing well for himself in the Northern Hemisphere.
PEMBROOK LEGACY N REPLAY
Daniel Clements picked up a driving hat trick and they we all for trainer Bruce Goit. The first win was in the fourth race when Shes Got Rhythm (Dali) earned her first win in her short racing career. It was only her fourth start and sheās finished in the top three every time so far. Her win in 2:00.3 will give her and her connections something to beat next time out.
The Goit-Clements combo also picked up the late daily double with wins from American Sniper (Western Terror) and Mystic Messenger (Camystic). Clements was not shying away from dramatics as both veteran pacers came from behind during the stretch to earn close wins. The final two races both went in the time of 1:58.1.
The biggest long shot of the night came in the eighth race when Road To Redemption (Holiday Road) was able to cross the finish line first even though the bettors had him at 12-1. He recorded a new lifetime mark of 2:00.0 in the process. The four-year-old trotting gelding now has five wins in 2022 and six lifetime.
The Raceway at Western Fair District will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday with post time being at 5:50 PM Eastern.
