Wheels on fire continued his dominance in the Woodbine Mohawk Park $34,000 Preferred harness racing class with his third consecutive win at the level on Saturday, and his fifth in a row at all tracks.
He fired out to an early lead for driver Doug McNair but was overtaken by Century Farroh (Sylvain Filion) as they banked into the first turn. Century Farroh carved out a :27.1 first quarter and :56 half with no resistance, but Wheels On Fire slid out of the pocket going into the final turn and quickly dispatched the leader after three-quarters in 1:23.1. Wheels On Fire paced strongly to the finish and stopped the clock in 1:49.1, the fastest mile of his winning streak.
Century Farroh finished second, and Points North (James MacDonald) was third.
