For the second straight week there was no stopping Wheels On Fire as he rolled on once again in capturing the $34,000 Preferred Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park Saturday evening.

It was So Much More and driver James MacDonald scooting to the early lead but by the opening quarter mile in :29.1, driver Doug McNair had Wheels On Fire on the move and in command.

They sped past the half mile marker in :58.1 and that was when Poseidon Seelster and driver Trevor Henry came first-over and pressed the leader to the three-quarters in 1:27.1 with Untred and Jody Jamieson grabbing the second-over cover.

As the field started down the stretch, Wheels On Fire and McNair were not to be caught, winning by one and one-half lengths in 1:54.2 over So Much More with Untred grabbing the show spot.

WHEELS ON FIRE REPLAY

It was the 37th career victory for Wheels On Fire. The seven-year-old gelded son of Somebeachsomewhere went off as the 3/5 favorite and paid $3.40 to win. He is trained by Richard Moreau for owner Brad Grant of Milton, ON.
