Wheels On Fire (Somebeachsomewhere) prevailed in a stretch duel to win the Woodbine Mohawk Park $34,000 Preferred Pace for the first time this season and become harness racing’s newest millionaire.

Doug McNair seated the gelding fifth while Woodmere Stealdeal (Jonathan Drury) provided a :28.1 first quarter time. Saulsbrook Victor (Austin Sorrie) then circled up to lead to the half in :56.4.
McNair sent Wheels On Fire first-over as So Much More (James MacDonald) became the third leader of the race, and the pair raced eye-to-eye to three-quarters in 1:24. They clashed down the lane, and Wheels On Fire broke the deadlock in the final meters to win by half a length in 1:50.4.
Woodmere Stealdeal got up for third.

Wheels On Fire reached the seven-digit milestone in 136 starts. He has won 46 times. Richard Moreau trains the eight-year-old for Brad Grant of Milton.
