Chesapeake Sunrise (Shadow Play) added a seventh straight harness racing victory to his winning streak in his first start in four weeks on Friday (Aug. 11) at Kawartha Downs.
The gelding pressed the pace in the first quarter for Samuel Fillion to take over on the first trip down the backstretch. He cut the middle fractions, turned for home on top, and held off the charging Oh Coffee Bean (Isaac Waxman) by three-quarters-of-a-length in 1:56.3.

Chesapeake Sunriseās seven straight wins came after a winless first 12 tries to begin his career. The streak began on Jun. 2 for trainer Robert Kyle Fellows, and the sophomore won six straight before scratching with sickness on Jul. 21. He had been off since his narrow win on Jul. 15. N. Yolanda Fellows of Rockwood and Randy Ferris of South Woodslee own the gelding who has now earned $24,520.
Kawartha Downs will hold racing next on Saturday, Aug. 19.
