CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Windemere Saddy (Malicious) and Whole Nother delivered powerhouse harness racing performances in the marquee events Tuesday night at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Windemere Saddy

Windemere Saddy ($2.90) was every bit the star of the $4,650 Fillies & Mares Preferred Pace in race 12, controlling the terms from the rail for driver Marc Campbell. The four-year-old daughter of Malicious carved out splits of 28.2, 58.1 and 1:28.2 before closing out her rivals in 1:57.2, fending off a late bid from pocket-sitter Shake N Blake (Driven by David Dowling) to win for trainer Saul Lanigan and owners Shane Esson, Lanigan, Darcy Doyle and Isaac Schurman. Therealprincess (Gilles Barrieau) rallied for third.

WINDEMERE SADDY REPLAY

The $4,200 Open Trot in race 10 produced a sizeable upset as Whole Nother ($30.50) used a perfect two-hole trip to spring the surprise for driver Colin Sheppard and trainer Morgan Sheppard. Colin Sheppard co-owns with Darcy Duffenais as they defeated New Legacy (Dowling) and Fight Song (Jason Hughes).

Applepiemoonshine ($3.30) kicked off the evening in race 1 with a determined first-over victory in 2:02.2 for driver Paul Langille and trainer Luke Burke, with Promise Me Later ($4.60) doubling up the trainer in race 11 with a 1:59.4 win for driver Barrieau.

Marc Campbell had a driving triple while trainer Jennifer Doyle scored a pair of winners.

Live racing continues Saturday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Charlottetown. For more go to Redshores.ca.
