The harness racing feature race of the evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park (Nov. 3) was the 4th race when a field of nine trotters went for a purse of $21,000.
The favourite Warrawee Xalt (Royalty For Life) and driver Scott Young booked a photo session in the winnerās circle after trotting the mile in the time of 1:53.2.
Illusional was in the lead from the quarter pole until about the half mile pole when Southwind Oncore and Warrawee Xalt sailed on by. Warrawee Xalt would go on to win with ease by two and one-quarter lengths. Ultimately Southwind Oncore was able to hold onto second place and Illusional secured his place in the top three.
The young New York bred trotter was one-fifth of a second off his lifetime mark which is 1:53.1 and had a closing quarter of a mile in :28.3.Ā Warrawee Xalt is trained and co-owned by Jeff Gillis and Ellen Ott and paid $5.10 to win.
After the win, Young is inching closer to hitting $1.5 million in earnings as a driver this year. It would be the third time he has earned that much in a year driving.

Zip Me Up (Wheeling N Dealin) got his first win in his young racing career in the 6th race. The two-year-old trotter set his first lifetime mark at 1:58.1 teamed up with James Macdonald.
Co-owner of the faster mile of the evening goes to Cherie Amour (Mach Three) who also finished the 8th race in the time of 1:53.2. The six-year-old mare shaved two seconds off her previous lifetime mark. Cherie Amour went to post at 5-1 odds and paid $12.60 on a $2 win ticket. The pacing mare picked up Craig Yates’s first win as a trainer in 2022. He now sits seven away from hitting 500 lifetime wins.
