SUMMERSIDE, PE – Woodmere Skyline (Rollwithitharry) will look to follow in his big sister’s hoof prints as he begins his Atlantic Sires Stakes harness racing career Thursday evening (Jul. 14) during Governor’s Plate Week at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
Red Shores Summerside will host 11-dashes of competitive racing starting off at 6:30 P.M. featuring the Atlantic Sires Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts.
Woodmere Skyline has rail control in his $16,440 A-division for rookie colts in race 4 as the two-year-old colt will look to start off his career in the shadow of his two-time Atlantic Breeders Crown winning sister Woodmere Skyroller. Mike McGuigan trains and drives Woodmere Skyline for owners Mike Pollard of Stratford, P.E.I., and Tom Hollis of Greenfield, N.S., in his career debut after a 2:02.2 qualifying effort.
No Boats On Sunday (Source Of Pride) is the morning line favourite in the field from post 4 for the Heffernan Family team of driver Myles Sr., trainer Myles Jr., and owner Jackie. The Source Of Pride colt won his qualifier in 2:02.3.
The Backstretch Beat in Thursday’s card has No Boats On Sunday sailing away with his career debut.
“No Boats On Sunday fired off the wings and never looked back cruising to victory and closing in a snappy 28.4. Moves to the middle and Myles will be gunning early so it could be a winning debut.”
The second six-horse A-division is in race 7 as Tobins Profit (Stonebridge Terror) is the top choice from post 5 in the $16,440 class.
Marc Campbell picks up the catch drive for trainer Danny Romo and owners Kevin Dorey and Robert Sumarah of Nova Scotia and Frank Brundle of Ontario. The Stonebridge Terror colt will look to remain undefeated after winning his pari-mutuel debut in 2:00 at the Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia.
A lone $3,000 B-division for rookie colt’s lines up in race 2.
