Yacht Seelster (Shadow Play) set sail on an eighth-to-first voyage in the Preferred 2&3 Handicap Pace at Grand River Raceway on Friday (Jun. 10) for his fourth harness racing win of the year.
Driver Scott Wray pulled the seven-year-old stallion back to eighth as the pair started from post seven and sat 13-and-a-half lengths back as Lets Get Picked (J. Bradley Harris) pushed for the front in a :26.4 opening quarter. Wray then shifted his charge into the third-over position as they passed the half in :55.2.
Yacht Seelster fired three-wide and put rivals behind him as the field approached three-quarters in 1:25. He passed all but one as they entered the final turn and got by Lets Get Pickled in late stretch to score in 1:54.2.
His winning margin was a neck. Champagne Phil closed from last to third. A $2 win ticket returned $8.60.
