This was her second career win in seven starts. Stable Ricco SRL own this Alessandro Gocciadoro trainee that Orjan Kihlstrom catch drove to victory. Jorma Kontio drove for trainer Katja Melkko and Pepper AB. This winner is a half-brother to the Brauti bred High On Pepper by Ready Cash that was second yesterday and the leading trotter in SWE during the winter.
Ester Degli Dei (4f Maharajah-Twill Be Done-Donato Hanover) at 2.8/1 odds rallied to victory on the far outside with Robin Bakker driving in the Delicious Remudden Global Trot for four-year old mares. This was the 11th career win in 12 starts (one time second) for the Paul J.P. Hagoort trainee that L.C.J. Schalkoort owns. Race time was 1.09.5kr (mile rate 1:51.82) over the 1640 meters autostart with the winner earning 43,000€.
Eteria (4f Tactival Landing-Senorita Bonita-Angus Hall) also closed and just missed, earning second at 36.2/1 odds for Ulf Ohlsson driving for Reijo Liljendahl the trainer for Bruni Racing Team AB. Third home was Gigi Hanover (4f Chapter Seven-Glad All Over-Muscle Hill) driven by trainer Daniel Wajersten for Mellby Gard AB at 6.8/1. Today’s Solvalla co-featured Harper Hanovers (Gr. I International, purse to winner 86,000€, 3140 meters distance handicap, volte start, 16 starters) went to Philippe Allaire’s owned and trained Izoard Vedaquais (6m Bird Parker-Dokhe Vedaquaise-Prodigious) reined by Benjamin Rochard. Off at 1.74/1 (favorite) the J.P. Guay bred campaigner won for the 19th tine in 39 lifetime starts. He was handicapped 40 meters at the start, as were the second through fourth finishers. Izoard was timed in 1.11.8kr (mile rate 1:55.26) over the extended distance of 3180 meters (just below the 3218-meter two-mile distance).
Second was 4.4/1 odds High On Pepper (6g Ready Cash-Piece of Work-Yankee Glide) with Jorma Kontio driving for Katja Melkko. This one was the winter champion in SWE and he had four wins in his last five outings starting the day.
