The 5.6/1 Bevert Express (7g Tenor de Baune-Sweet Sixteen) overcame a 25 meters handicap to win the harness racing Grand Prix Groupe Bouttemy on the turf at Arras, France on Sunday (purse €35,000, 2875 meters distance handicap, 18 starters) with Francois Pierre Bossuet driving.
He also trains the winner for Ecurie Tenor, now with 12 wins in 67 career starts for €202,610 earned.
The 26/1 Africain (8m Oardo-Kamine), also 25 meter penalized, took second for Yann Gerard and breeder/owner/trainer Vincent Collard. Third was 47/1 and 25 meter handicapped Bora Fligny (7f Magnificent Rodney) for trainer/driver Christophe Chalon for Ecurie Chalon.
Two 50 meter penalized starters were fourth and fifth, 5.6/1 Anette du Mirel (8f Laetenter Diem) for Jeremy Koubiche, trainer Anders Lindqvist and owner Mlle. Anette Holmgren, and 16/1 Uvinito (10g Inver) reined by Christian Boisnard, the breeder/owner/trainer. A great race it was before a large, enthusiastic audience.
