Blind Date wins the Jozsef Marschall Memorial

Blind Date won in his first harness racing start in Hungary for Christoph Schwarz, trainer Robert Gramuller and owner Stall Lindiger. Mike Lenders bred this winner.

He came in with two wins in his last five appearances, those victories being at Daglfing and Baden bei Wien. Finishing second was 1.6/1 Maugli that was offstride in late stretch and placed last.

The 13/1 Uccellone (5m Corleone-Zora Island-Fast Photo) was third placed second driven by Marisa Bock for Stall Wieserhof and trainer Robert Gramuller. Finishing fourth placed third was 16.4/1 Digital Races (7m Super Photo Kosmos-Paired-Scarlet Knight) with Imre Fazekas teaming this Bernadett Balogh/Prolongo III product that Stefan Melander bred.

Placed fourth was 3.5/1 Zaire Wise As (9m Maharajah-Southwind Pamona-Dream Vacation) reined by Dejan Katanic for Serbian trainer Saska Horvatski for owner Jankulov II.

On the undercard Bonaparte Boss (7g Napoleon-Nikita-Crown Sweep) impressively took the Istvan Szegedy Memorial (purse 1,200,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart, six starters) timed in 1.13.7kr a new record for the winner that now posts 19 career victories in 49 appearances.

Veljko Mazsity trains and drove the Boss for owner Hico. Off at 1.8/1 odds the Boss defeated 4.1/1 Catania R (6g One Too Many-Campala RAL-Toss Out) driven by Marko Slavic for conditioner Mitja Slavic.

Third was 23.4/1 Devoted (5m Maharajah-Wale-Center Field) with Christoph Schwarz catch driving for Emil Csordas. Palace Bo (5m Muscle Hill-Jasmina-Abano As) was fourth at 8.1/1 odds for driver Imre Fazekas.

The co-featured Hungaria DIJ (purse 4,000,000Huf, 2560 meters distance handicap, seven starters) went to the 1.5/1 odds favorite Enjoy (4m Maharajah-Journey Boko-Zola Boko) timed in 1.16.2kr over the extended distance.

Imre Fazekas reined the Bernadett Balogh trainee for Prolongo III, the winner’s fifth victory in 2024 from six starts and his nine career win in HU from 15 starts. It was his fourth straight victory the last three in classic races.

Power Hill (4m Muscle Hill-Abasi-Love You) was second at 4.8/1 for trainer/driver Gerhard Mayr of Austria and Power Hill is owned by Stall Antonshof. Third was 2.9/1 Nelson Newport (4m Celebrity Maserati-As Ya’ll Like It-Yankee Glide) with Christoph Schwarz driving for Stall Wieserhof and German trainer Robert Gramuller. Eternity Bar (4g Maharajah-Salome’Bar-Ganymede) was 5.9/1 odds fourth for Veljko Mazsity.
