Pulay Kornel Memorial held at Kincsem Park

Bonaparte Boss (6g Napoleon-Nikita-Crown Sweep) controlled the pace and comfortably won the featured Pulay Kornel Memorial at Kincsem Park in Budapest, Hungary Saturday, April 15 (purse 1,500,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart, 10 starters) for harness racing trainer/driver Veljko Mazsity and owner Hico timed in 1.15.8kr.

This was the winner’s first start in 2023 and his 13^th lifetime victory in 31 starts, that was off today at 4.3/1 odds. He raced on the lead throughout and was two lengths best on the line over Csak a Szel that was a dq.

Placed second was Unno del Duomo (10m Ganymede-Irma del Duomo-Lemon Dra) with Sandor Kolozsi up for trainer Goran Zolnaji. Placed third was Cardenas Baba (5f From Above-Ulan Bator Baba-Love You) with trainer Goran Zolnaji driving. Zlatan LIW and Bobby Fischer were placed fourth and fifth.

Last year’s race winner was 1.14.1kr timed Gomez (9g Ready Cash) in the staked record time. The previous fastest race winner was Night Lady (7f Tony Oaks) at 1.14.3kr in 2014.

Last Saturday Celerina Boss (5f Igor Font-Nikita-Crown Sweep), a half-sister to Bonaparte Boss, won the featured Imike DIJ at Kincsem Park (April 8) clocked in 1.19.8kr at 3.3/1 odds.

Trainer Veljko Mazsity reined Celerina Boss to her first 2023 victory in three starts and her fifth lifetime in 24 outings. Casino Royale (5g Marengo) was second for trainer/driver Angor Angyal with third money earned by Diamind Ville (4m Maximus Lindy) handled by Marko Slavic.
