The top FFA trotters in Italy, including Vivid Wise and the aforementioned Bonjovi MMG, will start on April 10 in the GP Costa Azzurra, a Gr. I event for 154,000ā¬ raced over 1600 meters. This should be a great race to possibly yield an Elitloppet invite to join Etonnant, Horsy Dream and San Moteur. Etonnant is tentatively scheduled for three appearances in the next six plus weeks, the April 8 Prix Kerjacques at Vincennes, the April 22 Prix de LāAtlantqiue at Enghien and the May 13 Ducs de Normandie at Caen. Perhaps the best performer in Europe 2023 is the mare Ampia Mede SM and she is now resting after the Vincennes Winter Meet successes. She is expected to return in late June for the Prix de Balliere that is raced over 2100 meters.
Last weekend at Solvalla the week known Aetos Kronos (7m Bold Eagle-Will Of A Woman-Muscles Yankee) continued a comeback with his first victory in two years. He secured victory in the C Th Ericssons Memorial (500,000SEK to winner, 2140 meters autostart, STL Gold) timed in 1.12.1kr at 11/1 odds holding gamely in late lane after a first over journey/ Magnus A. Djust piloted the winner for trainer Jerry Riordan and co-owners that include Mike Snyder of New York. Chapuy was second for Ake Lindblom and Hierro Boko was third for Mika Forss in a blanket finish. Could Aetos be an Elite Race invitee?
