Capital Mail wins Criterium de Vitesse de Basse Normandie

Capital Mail (5m Nad El Sheba-Unicona Golden) controlled the pace with Gabriele Gelomini engineering this 1.10.1kr timed harness racing victory in the Gr. II International Criterium de Vitesse se Basse Normandie (purse 100,000€, 1609 meters autostart) at Argentan.

Fabrice Souloy trains the first-time winner in France that has 661,880€ earned that Severio Cortese owns. Off at 3.1/1 odds the bested held off rallying 4.1/1 Happy Valley (6f Royal Dream-Mysterious Valley) handled by her breeder Jean Philippe Dubois for his Ecurie Victoria Dreams and trainer Philippe Moulin.  Third was the 1.1/1 odds favorite Elie de Beaufour (9g Royal Dream-Pignata) with trainer Jean Michel Bazire at the lines for owner Eric Leballois The 7.6/1 Elvis du Vallon (9m Reve de Beylev) was fourth for driver Yoann Lebourgeois. On the Argentan undercard was the Prix Up And Quick (purse 24,000€, 1609 meters autostart for five year olds). The 1.2/1 odds favorite Cobra Killer Gar (5g Readly Express-Lady Killer Gar) scored in 1.12.0kr for reinsman Gelormini and trainer H.E. Bondo. Also on the program was the Prix Un Mec d’Heripre (purse 27,000€, 2150 meters for four and five year olds) and trainer Bondo was again victorious with the 6.9/1 odds Canadian Kronos (5f Trixton-Oakville Kronos) timed in 1.13.2kr for pilot Francius Lagadeuc. This was her sixth win in 10 starts now for 72,322€ earned. Her photo follows.
