Upset winner in Prix Dominik Cordeau in Paris

Chance EK (6f Nad Al Sheba-Ukase EK-Mago d’Amore) captured the Prix Dominik Cordeau (purse 71,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 14 European starters) timed in 1.11.1kr New Year’s Day at Vincennes, France with mostly a front-end winning journey driven by Yoann Lebourgeois for trainer Fausto Barelli and owner Edy Graziano Caprani.

Chance EK, off at 17/1 odds, now has one win in France from four starts and career earnings of 238,316€.

Finishing second was 10/1 Coquaholy (5m Orlando Vici-Pink Marble) with Bjorn Goop driving for Tomas Malmqvist training for Panamera Racing. Third home was the 2.2/1 favorite Gericault (5m Muscle Hill-Reverie d’Ar) with Christophe Martens aboard for Ecurie Black and White and conditioner Vincent Martens. Illusion Jipad and Don’t Day Gar finished fourth and fifth.

There were interesting winners on the undercard. Leader du Pommeau (3m Ready Cash-Une Lady de Nappe-Love You) won the 33,000€ Prix de Bonneuil for Eric Raffin driving for trainer/owner Louis Baudron. This was his second career victory in five starts.

On the program Koldplay (4m Bold Eagke) scored in 1.14.3kr over 2700 meters with trainer Mathieu Mottier driving, his fourth career victory, and Jolie Coktail (5f Coktail Jet) won in 1.13.6kr over 2700 meters for Clement Duvaldestin to secure her sixth career win in 14 appearances.
