Chauve-Laffay stable stars align in Feurs

All the planets aligned on Wednesday (11th Oct) in Feurs for the Chauve-Laffay family. After watching Jeson Boy (Saxo de Vandel) win the 11th harness racing stage of the Grand National du Trot, with his son Quentin in the sulky, trainer Hervé ChauveLaffay saw his second son, Benjamin, take the lead with Miss Loulou (Look de Star).

Previously under the care of Bertrand Chourre, the filly joined Hervé Chauve-Laffay’s stable in the spring and has now recorded her second victory under his name.

Her first victory came in a claiming race on May 3 at Lyon-Parilly. Today’s victory is in a significantly higher category, in a qualifying race for the Trot Open des Régions – Centre-Est des 3 Ans.

Descended from the maternal line of Quasar Joli (9 wins for €379,110 in earnings), Miss Loulou has only improved since her initial success in May.

“Quentin, my brother, told me that the filly responded very well to dropdown blinkers,” Benjamin recounts.

“It’s true that when I lowered her blinkers, she reacted very well. The filly is capable of finishing very quickly when she is preserved in the race. She was born at home. So she is 100% Chauve-Laffay. It’s a great day for the stable.”
