Cokstile (9m Quite Easy-Joystile) rallied to win the fifth Prix d’ Amerique 2022 qualifier, the Prix du Bourgogne (Gr. II International, purse 120,000€, 2100 meters autostart, 18 starters), at 26/1 odds and clocked in 1.10.9kr at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes in France.
Gabriele Gelormini teamed this H.E. Bondo trainee for Scuderia Santese Srl. This was his first victory in France and advanced his career earnings to 1,149,087€.
The fractions were quick but well rated after the first 600 (1.04.9kr at 1500 meters to go, 1.09.4kr at the 1000 and 1.11.1kr with 500 to go) and set by 3/1 Vivid Wise As (8m Yankee Glide-Temple Blue Chip) and reinsman Eric Raffin for Scuderia Bivans Srl and trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. Third home was the gallant mare 102/1 odds Billie de Montfort (11f Jasmin de Flore-Quismy de Montfort) handled by P.Y. Verna for Sebastien Guarato, training for breeder/owner Philippe Dauphin.
Billie de Montfort left the gate quickly from post nine and secured a three-hole trip, then finishing fast late in the lane to miss second by half-length. She is nearing 2.6€ million in career earnings. The top three in the Prix du Bourgogne earned Prix d’Amerique tickets.
The next four to the line were 34/1 Flamme du Goutier (6f Ready Cash), 10/1 Gu d’Heripre (6m Coktail Jet), and the Daniel Reden entry 41/1 Missle Hill (7m Muscle Hill) and 2.2/1 Don Fanucci Zet (6m Hard Livin). There were six miscue dq’s that were the J.M. Bazire entry Davidson du Pont and Zacon Gio plus Delia du Pommereux, Violetto Jet, Frisbee d’Am and Feeling Cash.

Earlier in the week it was reported that two FR stallions passed, the elegant Defi d’Aunou (Armbro Goal-Nesmile) at age 30, he a 33-time winner for 2,392,673 for breeder Jean Pierre Dubois, and Drole de Jet (Coktail Jet-Likely Jet) bred by Jean Etienne Dubois and a winner of 689,385€, he a foal of 2013.
