Criterium finals complete in Paris

Three Criterium Finals were contested this afternoon at Paris-Vincennes plus a groupe II monte event and they were superb competitive harness racing races.

The Prix  Herve  Ceran Maillard RMC (monte Gr II, purse 120,000€, 2850 meters, eight five year old starters) began the action and 5.7/1 odds Kapaula de L’Epine (5f Discours Joyeux-Paula Jim-Cygnus d’Odyssee) scored narrowly timed in 1.13.9kr with jockey Adrien Lamy up for trainer/owner J.G. Van Eeckhaute.  She won for the  fourth time in her career that has  gained 579,220€.  The 1.4/1 favorite Keengame (5f Express Jet-Red Bell-Jag de Bellouet) was second with Anthony Barrier in the irons for trainer J.P. Monclin and Ecurie Hunter Valley. Third was 6.1/1 Katline Mourataise (5f Prince Gede-Anoline Mourataise) ridden by Alexandre  Abrivard for A.P.  Grimault. This racing battle led to the three Criteriums.

Lancier do Goutier (4m Ready Cash-Elissi  James) captured the Criterium des 4 Ans (Gr I, purse 300,000€, 2850 meters, 17 four year olds) timed in 1.12.7kr at 2.5/1 odds with Theo  Duvaldestin up for Ecurie Saint Martin and trainer Thierry  Duvaldestin.

Lancier has nine career wins in 15 starts for 365,350€ and this day he defeated 7/1 Lovino Bello (4m Village Mystic-Louvina Bella) with Eric Raffin handling the Thierry Duvaldestin trainee that Sandrine Robert owns. Third was  8.9/1 odds  Lombok Jiel  (4m  Enino Pommereux) with P-Y Verva up for Ecurie Luck and J.L.  Dersoir.  Learn To Fly (4m Uriel Speed) took  fourth at 72/1 with Paul Philippe Ploquin driving  for Frederic Senet and Michele Stihl.

The Criterium des 3 Ans (Gr. I,  purse 300,000€, 2700 meters, 13 three year old starters) saw 2.5/1 odds Mack de Blary (3m Face Time  Bourbon-Hermione de Blary) placed first when Magic Night  (3f Helgafell-Byblis du Goutier) was placed second  for interference  in th  lane.

Mack was driven by  Theo Duvaldestin to his seventh career victory in 11 starts for 396,575€, for owner Philippe Beauvisage and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. Magic Night was handled by Paul Philippe Ploquin for trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Gitte Paulsen Allaire. Magnum du Choquel (3m Hohneck) was  third at 160/1 odds with Francais Lagadeuc  driving for Nicolas Bridault,  followed by 28/1 Mystic Sonato (3m Village Mystic) with Franck Nivard up for Thierry Duvaldestin  and Tanguy de la Bourdonnaye. Race time was 1.12.5kr.

And finally, 6.3/1 odds Krack Time  Atout (5f Face Time Bourbon-Topaze d’Atout) won the Criterium des 5 Ans (Gr I, purse 300,000€, 2850 meters, 13 starters five year olds) with  Franck  Nivard driving for Sebastien Guarato and owner  Philippe Barbe.

Krack Time has now earned 840,100€  from nine wins in  39 starts. He was timed today in 1.11.8kr. The 1.9/1 odds favorite Koctel du Dain (5m Boccador de Simm-Ophelie) was second with David Thomain the reinsman for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. King Opera (5m Ready Cash-Unlimited Jet) took third at 8.9/1 odds with trainer William Bigeon  driving for Joel Seche, now interim PMU leader. He was fourth in this race with 23/1 Kana de Beylev (5f Express Jet-Dina de Beylev) that Eric Raffin teamed for William Bigeon and Seche. Kamehameha (5m Unicolve-Vivolta Jet) was fifth at 177/1 odds for Ecurie Huntter Valley and their trainer/driver Antoine Lherete.
