A host of classics took place this weekend at Kincsem Park (Budapest) highlighted by the Haromevesek Nagydija (purse 5.,000,000 Huf, 1900 meters autostart, seven starters, three year olds) in which 1.7/1 Csak A Szel (3f Ken Warkentin-Nana-Tony Oaks) prevailed with a gate to wire performance.
She was timed in 1.16.7kr and reined by her trainer Imre Fazekas, who also conditioned Nana to many classic victories. The winner scored for the second time in three 2021 starts and has five wins in six career starts.
Second was 6/1 Casino Royale (3g Marengo-Naomi-PS Dimo) with Imre Soos II up and third home was 6.1/1 Che Comandante (3m Maximus Lindy-Nikkel Lady-Tony Oaks) handled by Mitja Slavic. Last year’s winner was Borutka, an Illetmeny filly, timed in 1.17.2kr for reinsman Tibor Hajnal.
On the undercard was the Otevesek Nagydija (purse 3,000,000HUf, 3000 meters autostart) with victory to Alfa Boy (5m Racino-Chippychip GT-Defi d’Aunou) with Csaba Lakatos up for trainer Tibor Hajnal.
Race time was 1.19.6kr and he was off at 4.6/1 odds. This was his second win in seven starts this year and 11th win in a 29-race career.
Adriana Asti (5f Frullino Jet-Cameron Diaz-Baltic Speed) with Veljko Mazsity the trainer/driver, finished second. Third was Atomanti M (5g Cigar Dan-Step by Step-Allison Hollow) with Mitja Slavic up. Last year this race went to Zseneroz by SJ’s Photo timed in 1.21.2kr for Andor Angyal. The race record is 1.17.4kr set by Ollyan Nincs in 2013 with Andrea Fazekas up.
The Kanca DIJ (purse 1,900,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart, eight starters) saw Bubajos (4f Vanito-Stellina Mia) score at 18.6/1 odds timed in 1.16.2kr. Ferenc Nagy II teamed and trains the now six-time career winner in 18 starts.
Farya BD (4f Andover Hall-Franciula-Donarail) was second for Laszlo Kolozsi at 37.5/1 odds and Be My Dream (4f SJ’s Photo-Magna Charta-Baltic Bet) landed third for Andor Angyal at 68.9/1 odds. The even-money favorite Borutka was a miscue dq. The stake record of 1.15.9kr was set in 2019 by Zseneroz.
In the Konta Dezso Memorial (purse 1,200,000Huf, 1900 meters autostart, 11 starters) the 2.4/1 favorite Zseneroz (6f SJ’s Photo-Hitelezo=Witsend’s Speedy) scored in 1.15.3kr for Gyorgy Horvath and trainer Zoltan Ozvar. He won on a dq for Maugli that was first to the line at 2.1/1 odds.
Zseneroz won for the fourth time in six appearances this year and for the 14th time in his 46 start career.. Fidagu UR (8g From Above-Pine Noelle-Pine Chip) was placed second for Sandor Varga at 13..3/1 odds. Placed third was Flying Dream (6m Coktail Jet-Princesse Baraka-Extreme Dream) with Erich Kubes up for trainer Peter Schwarzlmuller.
In the Katoka DIJ (purse 600,000HUf, 1900 meters autostart, seven starters), Bonaparte Boss (4g Napolean-Nikita) scored at 3.6/1 in 1.15.2kr. Veljko Mazsity teamed and trains this impressive winner.
The next major stakes day at Kincsem Park is August 21 with the Istvan Szent DIJ scheduled along with the Janos Szalay Memorial.
