Italian trotters all over Europe

While many Italian trotteurs are in Sweden and France there are still solid performers at home. At Modena Ghirlandina this day (May 19) the 3.7/1 odds Deus Zack (5m Victor Gio-Martina Grif-Varenne) held bravely after a front trotting journey to win the Premio Renzo Orlandi (purse 37,400€, 1600 meters autostart) timed in 1.11.2kr.

Carmine Piscuoglio teamed the winner that defeated 23/1 Brezza du Kras (7f Irving Rivarco) with Gennari Riccio aboard with third to 3.1/1 favorite Daughter As (5f Father Patrick-Highland Image) reined by trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro. The 7.8/1 Fiorano (5m Tiger Woods As) was fourth for driver Roberto Vecchione,

On Elite Race weekend at Solvalla the Gocciadoro and Italian team is well represented. The Sweden Cup on Saturday includes Gocciadoro’s Diamond Truppo, Colibri Jet, Always EK and Danao Degli Dei that Adrian Kolgjini sends out.

The Sweden Cup elims, Lady Snarts and Harper Hanovers lineups are shown below. The latter is a marathon event raced over 3140 meters distance handicap. This is a Gr. I test with a purse of 177,031€. In this race there are three top performers, all handicapped 40 meters, and they are Philippe Allaire’s Izoard Vedaquais, High On Pepper and Horchestro (second in points in the GNT series in FR).
