Don Fanucci Zet wins St Michel Prize at Mikkeli

Don Fanucci Zet (8m Hard Livin-Kissed By The West-Western Terror) survived a death seat struggle with Denver Gio and then passed the rival finally holding off Castor The Star to win today’s St. Michel Prize at the fast Mikkeli track.

Orjan Kihlstrom teamed this Stall Zet/Deniel Reden stalwart. Don Fanucci Zet, of at 1.82/1 odds, won for the 27 time in 49 starts securing the 80,000€ first prize. Race time over the 1609 meters autostart course was 1.08.7kr, or 1:50.53 the mile rate. Castor The Star (6m Maharajah-Carelia Boko-Varenne), off at 7.01/1 odds, was a closing second for Mats E. Djuse and trainer Jorgen Westholm with third going to 32.17/1 Mellby Jinx (6g Ready Cash-Heaven’s Door-Muscle Hill) that trainer Daniel Wajersten reined. Pacesetter Denver Gio (5m Southwind Frank) was fourth at 4.8/1 with Hierro Boko (10g From Above) fifth at 40.4/1 odds.

On the undercard was a 1609 meters autostart contest with 12,000€ to the winner and Killiam Fromentro scored at 2.1/1 odds timed in 1.09,5kr (mile 1:51.83).  This four-year-old son of Villiam-Caryatide-Ready Cash was reined by trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro to his 13^th career victory in 22 starts. Gigi Hanover (4f Chapter Seven-Glad All Over-Muscle Hill) at 2/1 odds set the pace and was a game second with trainer Daniel Wajersten aboard timed also in 1.09.5kr. Third was Fly By Me (4g Muscle Mass-Fine By Me-Dream Vacation) with trainer Harri Kolvunen driving.
