154,000£ Gran Premio Anact Finals in Italy

The Anact harness racing finals took place this day (Nov. 19) at Roma Capannelle in Italy.

The Gran Premio Anact Male (two year olds, 154,000£ purse, 1640 meters autostart) saw Ebano D’Arc (2m Bird Parker-Geisha Greif-Pine Chip) score in 1.14.2kr with Andrea Guzzinati aboard for trainer Marco Smorgon. He has two wins this year in seven outings.

Edy Girifalco (2m Victory Gio-Maruroa As-Lemon Dra) was second for V.P. Dell’Annunziata ahead of third finishing Energy King Gar (3m Wishing Stone-Venus Gar-Varenne).

In the filly Gran Premio Anact (154,000£ purse, 1640 meters autostart for two year old fillies) Ete Jet (2f Maharajah-Love Me Tender-Supergill), a sister to Bengurion Jet) scored in 1.13.7kr for trainer/driver Alessandro Gocciadoro.

Esperia CR (2f Ready Cash-Tentation As-Muscles Yankee) was second for Marco Smorgon, with third to El Alamein (2f Robert Bi-Leonida Grif-Varenne) handled by Andrea Guzzinati.

The previous evening (November 18) at Victoria Park Wolvega, trainer/driver Gocciadoro easily won the Merwestaal Prijs Der Giganten (purse 61,000£, 2100 meters autostart) with Zaccharia Bar clocked in 1.12.3kr. Florlis Baldwin (10g Passing Renka-Tanja de Bruin) was second for trainer/driver Kristian Malmin and Hades de Vandel (5m Ganymede-Silene de Vandel) took third with Robin Bakker at the lines for trainer Paul Hagoort.

A week ago (November 13 at Montegiorgio) the Pr XXXIV Palio dei Comuni (final purse 129,250£, 1600 meters autostart) went to the 1.10.9kr timed Bengurion Jet (5m Maharajah-Love Me Tender-Supergill) for trainer/driver Alessandro Gocciadoro. Global Trustworthy (9m Muscle Hill-Trophy Stand-Garland Lobell) was a close second for Pietro Gubellini and Africa Jet (6f Naglo—Seredova-Cantab Hall) was third for Rene Legati.

In the three eliminations, each raced over 1600 meters for modest 8,250£ purses, went to Zacon Gio (7m Ruty Griff-May Glade Font SM-Yankee Glide) clocked in 1.12.1kr for reinsman Roberto Vecchione; Bengurion Jet in 1.11.4kr for Gocciadoro; and Global Trustworthy in 1.11.7kr for Gocciadoro.
