Face Time Bourbon colt tops ITS-Asta sale; Jokic buys three

Italy’s ITS-Asta Yearling Sale took place on September 12-13 with 294 yearlings cataloged. Of those, 204 lots were sold with the balance withdrawn or buybacks. The top five sale toppers are listed below.

Hip 57 Far Wise As (male. 5/8/21 by Face Time Bourbon-Temple Blue Chip) 210,000€ to Gaetano Pezzone, this a half-brother to the Yankee Glide son Vivid Wise As (2,300,048€ earned)

Hip 45 Fargo Wise As (male 4/30/21 by Walner-New Wrinkle) 140,000€ to Angelo Boccia

Hip 37 French Connection (male 4/15/21 by Face Time Bourbon-Waffle Cone) 120,000€ to Micciche Scuderia Pink Black

Hip 71 Flaminio (male 4/10/21 by Ready Cash-Namibia) 105,000€ to Wilhelm Paal

Hip 95 Fairway di Poggio (male 5/8/21 by Father Patrick-Idole di Poggio) to Karin Walter Mommert

There was another 100,000€ plus yearling but this was a buyback at 180,000€, hip 99 Fireball Bi (male 5/2/21 by Ready Cash-Lorraine Bi). Face Time Bourbon yearlings averaged 63,700€ in this sale from 17 lots sold, this his second crop.

In addition, the Serbia born NBA MVP basketball star with the Denver Nuggets, Nicola Jokic, secured three yearlings. They were hip 53 Farid Mil (Muscle Hill colt) for 54,000€; hip 70 Follia Wind (Face Time Bourbon filly for 47,000€; and hip 120 Fatou di Poggio (Maharajah colt for 42,000€).
