Today (Sept. 7) the Hippodrome Meslay du Maine in France hosted the 10th leg of the Grand National du Trot (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2875 meters distance handicap) and Farrell Seven (7f Redeo Josselyn-Only Seven) scored at 1.2/1 odds for owner/trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire.
The winner overcame a 25-meter handicap to record his 19th career victory now for 443,850€ earned. Race time was a quick 1.11.4kr as the winner advanced from third over in the outer to gain control with a lap remaining and from that point he was in control.
The 7.4/1 Faredgro Menuet (7g Perlando) was second for David Thomain and owner/trainer William Bigeon. Third home was 17/1 Easton Of My Life (8g Texas Charm) with Eric Raffin aboard for trainer Francois Giard.
Last evening at Paris-Vincennes their featured Prix Alfred Lefevre (monte, purse 90,000€, 2850 meters for European 5-10 year olds) went to the 5/10 favorite Fantaise (7f Un Mec d’Heripre-Quita d’Eronville) and jockey Francoius Lagadeuc for trainer Nicolas Bridault.
Race time was 1.13.1kr as the winner scored for the 11th time in her last 13 starts and 22nd career victory, 20 of those in monte events. Her life earnings advanced to 459,850€.
On the same card was the Prix des Geraniums (purse 42,000€, 2100 meters autostartr for two year olds). The impressive 1.13.5kr timed winner was 2.1/1 odds Knockonwood (2m Ready Cash-Don’t Explain) handled by David Thomain for breeder/owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. Perhaps this another Allaire developed top trotteur.
