Filwell game in €90,000 l’Ile d’Oleron

Filwell (9g Qwerty-Regence-Insert Gede) set the pace, drifted wide in the lane, but held game to win the Prix de L’Ile d’Oleron (Gr. III monte. Purse 90,000€, 2850 meters distance handicap, 15 European starters) timed in 1.12.2kr with a steady pace.

The veteran won for the 20th time in 77 starts for 712,650€. Adrien Lamy was the jockey for breeder/owner/trainer Pierre Levesque. He was off at 4.4/1 odds and overcame a 25 meter handicap. Closing for second was 10/1 Good Girl Marceaux (8f Jag de Bellouet-Iane Fortuna) with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons for trainer Pierre Vercruysse and owner Ecurie Top Ten Etalons. The 2.4/1 favorite Jazz in Montreux (5g Akim du Cap Vert) held third for Nathalie Henry and conditioner Gregory Thorel for Ecurie La Pinsonniere. Gold Voice (8f Jag de Bellouet) Ws fourth with Clement Frecelle up and Graal du Tresor was a dead heat fifth with Granit Meslois.

Two year olds battled on this card in the Prix des Hortensias (purse 33,000€, 2850 meters, 15 juvenile starters) with 6/10 odds favorite Magic America (2f Love You-Tootsie Smiling) the easy 1.15.3kr timed winner with Eric Raffin aboard.

The Sebastien Guarato trainee is owned by Ecurie J.P. Micholet and Magic America is two for two in her career for 20,475€.
