III, purse 90,000€, 2700 meters with nine starters ages 6-11) at Paris-Vincennes, France.
Race time was 1.13.0kr as Camille Levesque teamed the Pierre Levesque bred/owned/trained monte specialist. Filwell now has 19 career wins in 68 starts for 548,560€. The second finishing Homer had jockey Christopher Corbineau in the irons for owner/trainer Damien Lecroq. Third and six lengths back was 42/1 Django du Bocage (11g Real de Lou) with jockey P.Y. Ecurie Quick Star owns this mare that defeated 2.3/1 odds favorite Kalmia Perrime (4f Django Riff-Unabella Perrine-Diamant Gede) reined by Theo Duvaldestin. This Courant AB mare is trained by Theirry Duvaldestin. Koh Samur (4f Feeling Cash-Valrose-Nahar de Beval) was third at 8.5/1 for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire and Ecurie des Charmes.
Sunday ahead is the Gr. I Prix de Cornulier, the prestigious monte test with a purse of 700,000€. There are 33 horses early engaged including a host of horses without significant monte experience.
