Four year olds master Follonica

Two divisions of the Gran Premio Citta’ di Follonica were featured this day with the filly harness racing division (purse 66,000€, 2200 meters autostart, 12 mares starting) and 6.15/1 odds Fantastica Doda (4f Maharajah-Venere Degli Dei-Mago d’Amore) scored timed in 1.12.9kr.

Francesco Facci reined the 130,167€ to the game victory over 2.28/1 favorite Fantastic Gio (4f Face Time Bourbon-Zed Wise As-Yankee Glide) that Alessandro Gocciadoro piloted. Third home in a pack was 10.69/1 Faharajah One (4f Maharajah-Mariu’-Varenne) with Eduaodo Loccisano driving.

The male division of the Gran Premio Citta’di Follonica (purse 66,000€, 2200 meters autostart, nine starters) saw 13.65/1 odds Freyr di Venere (4m Pascia’Lest-It’s a Magic Moment-Kadabra) score for reinsman GP Minnucci timed in a sharp 1.10.8kr.

Far West Bi (4m Muscle Hill-Savannah Bi-Ganymede) was a closing second at 2.84/1 odds handled by Roberto Vecchione. Fakir Roc (4m Wishing Stone-Paris-Roc-Offshore Dream) held third for Santo Mollo off at 11.83/1 followed closely by 1.51/1 odds favorite Free Time Jepson (4m Face Time Bourbon-Titty Jepson-Varenne) handled by Alessandro Gocciadoro,

The previous day at Wolvega Pays Bays was the second leg of the Tour Europeen du Trotteur Francais. Called the Grand Prix Steven Bijkerk (purse 25,000€, 2600 meters autostart, 10 entrants) the 3.6/1 Jos Mazza (6g Bird Parker-Action Charm-Love You) scored handily in 1.12.7kr with Michel Rothengatter aboard for Schovemaker Logistics BV.

This was his 23rd win in 42 starts for 181,128€.  The 6/10 odds favorite Instrumentaliste (7m Ready Cash-Ulzhane-Offshore Dream) was second for driver Michael Nimczyk, trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Gianni Fascella. The 6.3/1 Jakartas des Pres (6g Scipion du Goutier-Unlon des Pres) took third for owner/trainer/driver Maxime Bezier.
