Freya T Boko wins 111th Hungarian Trotting Derby

The big one, the 111th harness racing edition of the V Sport Lovi-Magyar Ugetoderby (purse 14,000,000Huf , 2500 meters  autostart, nine four year old open starters) saw  2.1/1 odds favorite Freya T Boko (4f Campo Bahia-Jasmine  F Boko-Trixton) controlled the victorious journey timed in the race  record 1.15.1kr  over the  extended distance.

Michael Nimczyk was in town to drive the winner for trainer Adrian Burany and Tisma. Boko  Stables  and Milan Tisma bred this champion mare that now sports 11 career  wins from 17 starts. Friday Night (4m Tuanoblu Rex-Sultana Jet-Igor Font) was second  at 8.9/2 with Christophe Schwarz  driving for Robert  Gramuller  who trains for Laura IV. Gyorgy  Horvath bred this colt and successfully race the dam.The 55.7/1 odds Felhok Felett (4f Calypso Capar-Piera del Bar-Abano As)  was third  for Branko Skenderovic driving for Aleksandar Dimitrijevic of Serbia.

The Pannonia DIJ (purse 3,000,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart, six starters) began stakes action  this day and it went to 1.3/1 odds favorite Enjoy (5m Maharajah-Journey Boko-Zola Boko) timed in 1.14.2kr with Imre Fazekas driving.

This fast horse was left at the start and probably 25-50 meters behind the field. But, the Prolongo III owned and Bernadett Balogh trained speedster caught his rivals, and in the lane motored past for an easy win. He now sports 12 wins in 23 career starts. The 8.9/1 Euzebio (5g Connecting People-Daisysine-Like A Prayer) was second for Krisztina Komaromi and trainer Ferenc Nagy II. Eternity Boko (5f Maharajah-Salome’ Bar-Ganymede) was third at 6.8/1 with trainer Balogh driving for Prolongo  III.

Daytona Prav (6g Maharajah-Tenerezzi Bigi) off at 5.6/1 odds took the Jozsef Sinka Memorial (purse1,200,000Huf,1960 meters autostart) timed in 1.15.4kr. Veljko Mazsity trains and drove the Hico owned trotteur that noe sports 19 career victories in 27 starts and he is four for five in ’25. Home second was pacesetter 3.8/1 El Valle Sagrado (6g Nuncio-Urubomba-Maharajah)  with trainer Attila Budai on the  lines.  Denalda Op (6f Ringostarr Treb-Oslia Antica-Ganymede)was third at 4.1/1 odds with Joze Sagaj up for trainer Zvebka Osterc.

The Connollys Red Mills-Gros Estterhazy Miklos Memorial )purse 3,000,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart, three year old open) went to 1.6/1 odds favorite Giovannni Fling (3g Chelsea Boko-Veronica Fling-Racino) driven confidently by his trainer Veljko Mazsity for Hico, a double in the big races this day. Timed in 1.16.3kr the victory was the winner’s fourth in five starts. The 5.3/1 Get Lucky  (3m  Chelsea Boko-Sultana Jet-Igor Font)  was  a solid second for trainer/driver Gyorgy Horvath for owner Friends. The 11.1/1 Ginevra  (3f Owen CR-Nana-Tony Oaks)  was  third for C’est La Guerre and trainer/driver Imre Fazekas.
