Capital Mail dominates in 180,000€ Grand Prix

The 2.7/1 odds Capital Mail (5m Nad El Sheba-Unicona Golden) dominated today’s (Aug. 27) Gr II International Grand Prix du Departement des Aples-Maine at Cagnes sur Mer. The 1609 meters autostart course was clocked in 1.09.5kr to earned 81,000€ of the 180,000€ total purse contested by 10 starters aged 4-10 years old.

Gabriele Gelormini engineered the front-end winning journey for trainer Fabrice Souloy and owner Savario Cortese. Capital Mail has now won three of 13 starts in FR and upped his career earnings to 787,880€. This is a handsome great-gaited individual.

The 19/1 Heliade du Goutier (6f Prodigious-Voltage du Goutier) was second for driver Nicolas Ensch, trainer Souloy and Ecurie Saint Martin. Eclat de Gloire (9g Tiego d’Etang-Vive Fee) was third at 45/1 for trainer/driver Loris Garcia. The 1.9/1 odds co-favorite Go On Boy (7m Password) was fourth for Romain Derieux and 24/1 Bepi Bi (6m Donato Hanover) took fifth for Andrea Guzzinati ahead of Chance EK with Pietro Gubellini up and Ecuriel Jenilou for driver Gwenn Junod. Bleff Dipa raced well placed and weakened in the lane to finish ninth at 1.9/1 odds.
