Galius hangs on at the finish for the victory

Five groupe tests highlighted today’s Paris-Vincennes card that included two Gr. I featured races. In the first the 8.3/1 Galius (5m Love You-Star de Villeneuve) took the Criterium des 5 Ans (Gr I, purse 200,000€, distance 3000 meters) for Yoann Lebourgeois and trainer/breeder/owner Severine Raimond.

This was his 15th career victory now for 313,300€ earned. Race time was 1.13kr. The 113/1 Gangster du Wallon (5m Lets Get Along) was second for Alexis Collette and 2.6/1 Ganay de Banville (5m Jasmin de Flore) secured the third spot for owner/trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire. The 2.4/1 favorite Go On Boy (5m Password) was fourth.

In the Gr. II Prix Victor Regis (purse 100,000€, 2175 meters, three year old males) the 6/10 favorite Italiano Vero (3m Ready Cash-Baraka d’Henlou) prevailed timed in 1.12.2kr for David Thomain. Pierre Allaire owns and trains this Aldo Carnesecca bred youngster that won for the ninth time in his career now for 373,950€ earned. The 10/1 Inferno Piper (3m Coup de Poker-Troiana Piper) was second for Christophe Martens and third home was 44/1 Idehy de Centule (3m Very Nice Marceaux) for trainer/driver Tony Le Beller.

Trainer Allaire came right back to win the Gr. II Prix Uranie (100,000€ purse, 2175 meters, three year old fillies) with Ivensong (3f Ready Cash-Amy Crown) that scored in 1.12kr for David Thomain. Christophe Toulorge bred and owns this four time career winner for 148,750€ earned.

I Love Me (3f Love You-Reed Ta Gede) was second at 3.6/1 for breeder/trainer/driver Tony Le Beller. Third was 17/1 I Want You (3f Ganymede-Viva la Vida) for trainer/driver Louis Baudron. Idylle A Vie (3f Ready Cash) and Imperiale Darling (3f Love You) completed the top five.

The Gr. III Prix RMC (purse 80,000€, 2850 meters, 6-10 year old Europeans) saw 4.1/1 Detroit Castelets (8m Neoh Jiel-Rosanna Bonheur) secure this 1.13.8kr timed victory with Matthieu Abrivard up for trainer J.L. Dersoir and Ecurie Luck. This was his 12th career win now for 710,880€ earned.

The 7/1 Feliciano (6m Ready Cash-Ravenella) took second for David Thomain, driving for trainer Philippe Allaire and Ecurie des Charmes. 38/1 Calle Crown (7m Great Challenger) was third for Adrien Lamy. 2.1/1 Feerie Wood (6f Rockfeller Center) was fourth ahead of 7.2/1 Diable de Vauvert (8m Prince d’Espace).

Now, the Gr. I Criterium des 4 Ans (purse 200,000€, 2850 meters, four year olds) was the finale of the groupe events today, and 15/1 longshot Hastronaute (4m Booster Winner-Une Etoile Bleue) was victorious. Matthieu Abrivard teamed the Yannick Henry owned and trained colt that was timed in 1.11.7kr.

The Sebastien Guarato bred performer now has nine career wins for 212,360€ earned. The 10/1 Hanna des Molles (4f Village Mystic-Ultimate Jet) was second for Alexandre Abrivard and 3.3/1 Hohneck (4m Royal Dream-Caranca) was third with Franck Nivard the pilot for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire. 4.7/ Hooker Berry (4m Booster Winner) and 35/1 Harvest de Buliere (4m Charly du Noyer) completed the first five to the line. What a fine racing day this was before a good crowd.
