Veteran trotteurs contested today’s Prix du Cantal (purse 59,000€, 2850 meters, 16 starters ages 9-11) at Paris-Vincennes, with harness racing victory to 10/1 Gamin des Isles (9g Rieussec-Hija Paquenie) driven by Jean Michel Bazire.

JMB teamed this Stephane Bourlier trainee that he also owns that now has 10 career wins in 63 starts for 226,320€ with this 1.13.0kr timed victory. Grand Trio Ludois (9g Booster Winner) was second at 5.8/1 odds driven by Matthieu Abrivard for trainer Simon Laloum and owner Alain Laloum. The 92/1 Gibaldi de Louelle (9g Vigove) took third with Mathieu Mottier aboard the Franck Leblanc trained and bred campaigner that Yannick A. Hamon owns. The 7.4/1 Galant de Bruyere (9g Laetenter Diem) and 16/1 Eunis du Patural (11g Que de T’aime) completed the top five.

In Italy at Torino Vinovo two great veterans went through a public workout off the gate. Capital Mail (7m Nad El Sheba-Unicona Golden) and Alrajah One (9m Maharajah-Mariu) looked sharp in a workout with a mile rate 1:59.4f. Capital Mail is owned by Saverio Cortese and Andrea Guzzinati teamed the Gennaro Casillo trainee. Alrajah One is now trained by Mauro Baroncini and was reined by Marco Stefani.
