19-year-old wins first groupe race

Today at Cagnes sur Mer was the Grand Prix de Noel (Gr. III, purse 80,000€, 2925 meters distance handicap, 14 European starters) that saw 15/1 odds Gardner Shaw (8g Ready Cash-Blook Boko) rally to score in 1.13.2kr.

Lana Henry, at age 19, teamed the Yannick Henry trainee for owner Jerome Larquet as Gardner Shaw won for the seventh time in 34 career starts for 379,749€ earned.

Hede Darling (7m Password-Queen Darling) captured second as the 2/1 odds favorite with trainer Nicolas Bazire driving for owner Global Glide AB. Hedic Gema (7g Akim du Cap Vert) landed third at 3/1 odds with Alan Gendrot teaming the Marc Sassier owned and trainer performer. The 17/1 Honky Tonk Blues (7g Magnificent Rodney) with driver/trainer Nicolas Ensch and 20/1 Ginkgo Theloic (8g Quif de Villeneuve) and Y-A Briand finished fourth and fifth.
