Harness racing trotter Gaspar de Brion (7g Singalo-Rolls de Brioni-Jag de Bellouet) rallied in the lane and then drew clear to win the Gr. III International Grand Prix Anjou Maine at Le Mans, France (purse 100,000€, 2950 meters distance handicap, 16 starters).
Owner/trainer Matthieu Abrivard teamed the winner to his 14th career win in 44 outings for 399,840€ earned. He was off at 10.6/1 odds and scored in 1.12.5kr to earn the 45,000€ first prize.
Second was 17.1/1 Fakir de Mahey (8m Reve de Beylev) handled by Yoann Lebourgeois for trainer Mathieu Mottier. The 3.7/1 odds Gitano (7g Tucson) was third with Theo Duvaldestin driving for Thierry Duvaldestin, the trainer. Izoard Vedaquais (5m Bird Parker) was fourth at 16.9/1 after a tough journey on the outer for Benjamin Rochard and fifth home was 21.1/1 Goeland (7g Voltigeur de Myrt) and driver Damien Bonne. Well-regarded Elie de Beaufort was eighth followed by Hooker Berry and Hohneck, all of these handicapped 25 meters.
