Gaudeo (7m Tsar de Tonnerrc-Theresa) was a dominant harness racing winner of this week’s 11th leg of the Trophee Vert Series, named the Prix Besseau Automobiles at DSaint Jean de Monts.
A field of 16 trotteurs raced 2625 meters distance handicap for the 50,000€p purse. Gaudeo overcame a 25 meter handicap to win at 3/1 odds reined by owner Antoine Dabouis for trainer Michel Dabouis. The winner now has earnings of 304,261€ from 12 victories in 70 career starts. He now has 37 series points, third to Galet Sted with 52 and Enzo d’Essarts with 44 points.
Finishing second this day was 1.6/1 favorite Grec d’Havaroche (7g Hulk des Champs-Ulanie d’Havaroche) with Eric Raffin the pilot for trainer J.M. Baudouin. Finishing third was 20/1 Girl Petteviniere (7f Booster Winner-Noce Petteviniere) with Dylan Dulong at the lines for trainer Sylvain Roger.
The Trophee Vert Series brings compeititive trots to the turf in locations not holding extended trotting meets. It’s good for the sport to expand its audience and Trophee Vert is well attended.
