The 7.9/1 odds Gaudeo (7m Tsar de Tonnerre-Theresa) took the sixth leg of the Trophee Vert Turf Series with a front stepping journey Sunday (June 4), this race named the Prix du Futuroscope (purse 50,000ā¬, 3150 meters distance handicap for 6ā10-year-olds) and raced at Hippodrome La Roche-Posay in France.
The winner, handicapped 25 meters, was teamed with driver Thomas Touchard for trainer/breeder Michel Dabouis and owner Antoine Dabouis. He secured career victory 11 and now has life earnings of 303,760ā¬.Ā Race time was 1.16.1kr over the grass.
Galet Sted (7g Paris Haufor-Reynosa) was second at 3.9/1 and also handicapped 25 meters, driven by Anthony Barrier for trainer C.A. Mary. Third was the 50-meter handicapped and 2.9/1 Emeraude de Bais (9f Repeat Love-Haute Tension) that Franck Nivard piloted for trainer Benjamin Goetz.
The next major rotating series race is the Gr. III Grand National du Trot 6th leg on June 7 at Laval, named the Grand Prix Laval Agglomeration and contested over 2850 meters for the 90,000ā¬ purse.
