Today’s Prix du Calvados – Cornulier Q3 (monte, Gr. II International, purse 120,000€, 2850 meters, 13 starters ages 4-11) at Paris-Vincennes crowned three harness racing qualifiers of the Prix du Cornulier on January 19.
The 5/10 odds favorite Gazelle de Val (9f Viking de Val-Axelle du Noyer) scored for jockey Mathieu Mottier and Eric Lambertz the trainer/owner. The winner get a Cornulier ticket and now has earned 362,075€ from 12 wins in 71 starts.
Race time today was 1.14.2kr. The top nine finishers were all mares. Home second was 12/1 Edition Gema(11f Prince Gede) with Guillaume Martin in the irons for Marc Sassier the owner/trainer and Marie Annick Sassier was her breeder.
Third was 22/1 Jasmine de Vau (6f Seduissant Fouteau) with Guillaume Lenain aboard this Charles Dreux trainee that he owns. Halfa (8f Offshore Dream) was fourth at 23/1 followed by 57/1 Ina du Rib (7f Uhlan de Val), 11/1 Ideale du Chene (7f Bird Parker), Hirondelle du Rib (8f Rolling d’Heripre) at 118/1 and 11/1 Grace du Digeon (9f Seduissant Fouteau).
The top three today (Gazelle de Val, Edition Gema and Jasmine de Vau) earned Cornulier tickets and join the top three finishers in the Prix Jag de Bellouet (Kalif Landia, Kaoaula de L’Epine, Kaviariassime) and the Bilibili Prize (Jezabelle Bie, Joumba de Guex, Jasmine de Veu) these races for four and five year olds.

After the Calvados presentations were made to the leading 2024 race winners on sulky (Eric Raffin) and monte (Mathieu Mottier).
