Day Two of Germany’s Breeders Crown harness racing events took place this day (Oct. 24) at Berlin Mariendorf.
The four-year old males contested the Breeders Crown for a purse of 31,956€ and raced over 1900 meters autostart. The 2/1 odds Y Not Diamant (4g Odessa Santana-Nightwash Di) scored in 1.12.4kr for pilot Robin Bakker and trainer Paul Hagoort. The winner won for the sixth time in 10 starts this year and advanced his career earnings to 163,638€.
Finishing second was 10.3/1 Uccellone (4m Corleone-Zora Island) handled by Christophe Schwarz for trainer Rudolf Haller. The 14.6/1 odds Django Hill (4m Muscle Hill-Demi Kievitshof) was third with Michael Nimczyk driving the Wolfgang Nimczyk trainee,
The three-year old female Breeders Crown (purse 23,348€, 1900 meters autostart, seven starters) saw 3.2/1 odds Last Chance (3f Southwind Frank-Saorse) prevailing in 1.15.5kr. Robin Bakker teamed the winner for trainer/owner Louis Baudron. Last Chance now has earned 53,062. This was her fifth career win in 14 starts.
Her dam Saorse (2005 foal by Andover Hall-Armbro Gaelic-Dream Of Glory) that won US#369,854 with a 3, 1:54.3f record. She was bred by Adelaide Skoglund and exported to Sweden in 2012 by the Dubois family that raced her in America. The sire Southwind Frank was recently exported from the US to Italy as was Raja Mirchi that moved from Sweden.
Finishing second to Last Chance was 4.6/1 Speedrise Lady S (3f Walner-Smexd) handled by Michel F. Rothengatter, also her trainer. Third was 6.6/1 Cosmea (3f SJs Caviar-Cilantro) driven by Michael Nimczyk for Wolfgang Nimczyk and Stall Germania.
The Breeders Crown (purse 23,348€, 1900 meters autostart) for three-year old males went to 1.13.7kr timed Yin Yang (3g Bold Eagle-Lobell Countess) with Robin Bakker his pilot for trainer Paul Hagoort. This victory advanced the winner’s earnings to 62,992€. He now has five career wins in 13 starts.
Nelson Newport (3m Celebrity Maserati-As Ya’ll Like) was second at 5/1 with Christoph Schwarz teaming the Rudolf Haller trainee. Noah Newport (3m Muscle Massive-Britt Newport) was third at 13.6/1 with Rick Wester his reinsman.
In the four-year old female Breeders Crown (purse 32,956€, 1900 meters autostart) the 5.3/1 odds Sinfonie (4f Muscle Hill-Hermine) scored from post eight timed in 1.13.7kr. Josef Franzl drove and trains the winner for Gestut Lasbek. This one now has 68,315€ earned from eight victories in 13 starts.
The 6.7/1 Mose Eagle (4f Bold Eagle-Freya Kievitshof) was a close second with Robin Bakker driving the Paul Hagoort trainee. Samba Pa Ti (4f Broadway Hall-Desaria Gill) was third at 7.6/ with Dennis Spangenberg her pilot.
In the two-year-old Breeders Crown events the two-year-old filly division (purse 14,572€, 1900 meters autostart, seven starters) went to 2.5/1 Dolce Vita Seniorita (2f Devious Man-Zaragoza) timed in 1.16.1kr for driver Jaap Van Rijn. Jeroen W.M. Engwerda trains the winning filly in this her second start.
The colt division was raced for 14,572€ over 1900 meters autostart. Aladin (2m Baltimore As-Ain’t She Sweet) scored in 1.18.0kr for driver Michael Nimczyk and trainer Wolfgang Nimczyk. The Wishing Stone-It’s Easy colt Bellucci Rosso was second for Robin Bakker and trainer Paul Hagoort.
In the consolations we saw 3.8/1 odds Rouge Terre (3f Father Patrick-Netchka d’Orgeres) win the three- year filly division (purse 5,837€, 1900 meters autostart) timed in 1.15.1kr in a close photo. Robin Bakker teamed this Louis Baudron owned and trained filly. She defeated Eiskonigin (3f Conway Hall-Esmeralda Gala) driven by Christoph Schwarz and third finishing 4.4/1 Exmes As (3f Crazed-Catherine Hall) handled by Robbin Bot.
In other Breeders Crown consolations first, the four-year old mares raced over 1900 meters autostart for 8,239€ with Eluise (4f Ganymede-Eiffel Bi) the winner timed in 1.14.8kr and off At 2.9/1 odds. Michael Nimczyk teamed this Wolfgang Nimczyk trainee for owner Karin Walter-Mommert. She defeated Tara Mirchi (4f Raja Mirchi-Tara Hall) and Micha Brouwer.
In the four-year old male division Yahoo Diamant (4m Indigious-Glide Chip) scored again for Michael Nimczyk for Wolfgang Nimczyk and Stall Express at the favorite 1.4/1 odds. Race time was 1.13.6kr. Simba (4m Muscle Hill-Clothie) was second for Josef Franzl.
Finally, the three-year-old males raced for 5,837€. See You (3m Love You-Indira Comtesse) was victorious at 3/1 odds with Christoph Schwarz driving for Stall Sinos and trainer Rudolf Haller timed in 1.14.6kr. Intinori (3g Father Patrick-Ima Para Mi) was second reined by trainer Victor Gentz.
