Jazzman, Gigolo Lover shine at Vincennes

Jazzman (3m Niky-Nerfertite del Rio-Varenne) took the Prix Penthesilea (Gr. III, purse 70,000€, European three-year-olds) this day (March 31) at Vincennes in France, timed in 1.15.4kr with harness racing driver Alexandre Abrivard at the lines.

The L.C. Abrivard trainee recorded his first win in France for owner Jacky Lusseau. The dam of this 2.5/1 odds German bred colt was a winner of 434,792€.

Second home was 4.1/1 Knack Time Atout (3m Face Time Bourbon-Topaze d’Atout) with David Thomain at the lines for trainer Sebastian Guarato. Third was the 1.3/1 favorite Executiv EK (3m Face Time Bourbon-Nike EK-Varenne) with trainer Alessandro Gocciador aboard for Scuderia Pink and Black.

On the same card was the Prix Amalthea (purse 68,000€, 2100 meters autostart for European 7–10-year-olds) with victory to 2.7/1 odds Gigolo Lover (7g Royal Lover-Rosalie Moubaz) handled by Nicolas Bazire for trainer J-M Bazire and Ecurie Moureaux. This was the winners’ 14th career victory for 332,710€ earned.

Eric The Eel (7m Muscle Hill-Laurel America-Varenne-Armbro Voice) was second at 4.4/1 for Bjorn Goop, trainer Tomas Malmqvist and Stall Panamera Racing. The dam Laurel America is a sister to Lisa America and was bred by the late Lou Guida. Esteban Jiel (9g Coktail Jet) was third for Francois Lagadeuc driving at 27/1 odds.

The prior day at Lyon a la Soir was the Prix des Bouvreuils (purse 23,000€, 2050 meters for three-year-olds). Here the 1.3/1 odds favorite Kentucky Piya (3m Bird Parker-Cathorina Pita) remained unbeaten in now three starts reined by Herve Langlois for trainer Guarato and owner Nathalie Viel-Pierre.

Kidea Dream (3f Prodigious-Ere Nouvelle) was second at 3/1 odds for driver Francois Le Brun, trainer Philippe Allaire and owner Kevin Tebirent. The 7.9/1 Kaline du Corta (3f Charly du Noyer) took third for pilot Jonathan Cuoq.
