Gitano wins Prix de Cauvicourt at Caen

The very consistent Gitano (8g Tucson-Que d’Oseille), off at 1.5/1 odds as favorite, took the Prix de Cauvicourt (purse 35,000€, 2200 meters autostart, 18 European starters ages 5-11) this day at Caen, defeating a field of veteran fast-class trotteurs.

This winner of 22 races in 47 career starts mow has earned 474,590€. He was reined by Theo Duvaldestin for trainer/breeder Thierry Duvaldestin and owner Yannick Desmet. Finishing second was 2.5/1 Elvis du Vallon (10m Reve de Beylev) with David Thomain driving for trainer Charles Cuiller. Third was 7.5/1 Hanna des Molles (7f Village Mystic) for L.Cl. Abrivard with fourth to 40/1 Fakir du Lorault (9m Vaillant Cash) reined by Francois Lecanu.
