Go On Boy wins 2025 Elitloppet Final at third attempt

The Elitloppet Final Gr.  I International (Stig H Johanssons Pokal, purse to winner 5,000,000SEK, 1609 meters autostart) saw Go On Boy (9m Password-Balginette-Hasting) rally off cover to score easily timed in 1.08.4kr for harness racing trainer/driver Romain Derieux and owner Ecurie Nixonn.

He now has  20 career wins in 67 starts for 29,015,768SEK earned. This was driver Deriux’s second Elite victory the first with Dijon six years ago. He flew home after the 1000 meter time was 1.09.3kr. He was off the favorite at 3.35/1 odds.

“Go On Boy is a champion and I really wanted him to win this race because he’s a champion,” said Derieux in a post-race interview. “Sometimes he’s not happy all the time and today he was fantastic.

Home second was  the very game Don Fanucci Zet (9m Hard Livin-Kissed By The West-Western  Terror) at 8.55/1 odds for Paul Philippe Ploquin and Daniel Reden/Stall Zet that won elimination one and battled Mellby Jinx in the early stages of this final with the opening 500 in 1.07kr.

Third was 13.05/1 odds Hohneck (8m Royal Dream-Caranca-Ready Cash) that led  into the lane for Gabriele Gelormini  driving the Philippe Allaire trainee that was third in elimination two. A Faur Day was fourth at  24.9/1 and 3.44/1 second-favorite Borups Victory was fifth.

After the winner’s ceremony there was another ceremony, this for the retirement of champion Etonnant a winner of 29,669,670SEK from 26 wins in 101 starts.

Back to the undercard where the Menhammar Stuteri Four Year Olds Colts and Geldings (purse to winner 500,000SEK, 1640 meters autostart, 10 starters) went to 4.46/1 odds Free Time Jepson (4m Face Time Bourbon-Titty Jepson-Varenne) timed  in  1.09.5kr driven by trainer Alesandro Gocciadoro for Chelsea Srl.

This was his 10th career victory in 15 starts for 2,521,467SEK earned. Keep Asking (4m Chapter Seven-Sensibility-Muscle  Mass) was second at 6.2/1 with Orjan Kihlstrom aboard the Daniel Reden/Stall Zet product.

Third was Life On The  Bluf (4m Walner-Bluff-Donato Hanover) took third with a huge finish at 73.7/1 odds, with Magnus Teien Gundersen driving.
