Golden Gio, Joumba de Guez Groupe winners in Paris

Classy trotteurs were on stage with victories this day at Hippodrome de Paris-Vincennes with the Prix Maurice de Gheest (Gr. II International, purse 120,000€, 2175 meters, 10 three year old starters) going to 14/1 Golden Gio (3m Face Time Bourbon-Zed Wise As) timed in 1.13.1kr for his first victory in France.

Matthieu Abrivard confidently teamed the sharp colt that Marco Smorgon traines for Scuderia Bivans Srl. He bow has career earnings of 70,260€. Magnum du Choquel (3m Hohneck) rallied to gain second for Francois Lagadeuc, trainer Nicolas Bridault and owner Bruno Bridault.

Monzon Normand (3m Hohneck) held third at 5.9/1 odds with Yoann Lebourgeois aboard for trainer/owner/breeder Philippe Allaire. Mast Manathis (3m Booster Winner( at 28/1 and favorite Mack de Blary (3m Face Time Bourbon) finished fourth and fifth.

In the Prix Leon Tacquet (monte, Gr. III, purse 80,000€, 2700 meters, nine International starters) the even money favorite Joumba de Guez (6f Carat Williams-Quoumba de Guez) scored in 1.12.2kr after taking command with 2000 meters remaining.

Eric Raffin was the winning jockey for trainer Nicolas Bazire and breeder/owner Ecurie Vautors. The winning mare now sports nine career wins in 32 appearances for 427,960€. 15/1 odds Keengame (5f Express Jet) was second for Anthony Barrier the jockey for trainer J.P. Monclin and Ecurie Hunter Valley.

Third home was 9/1 odds early leader Jean Balthazar (6m Alto  de Viette)  with Benjamin Rochard in the irons for trainer Pascal Castel and owned Sandrine Loncke. The 3.1/1 Kyt Kat (5m Booster Winner) and 18/1 Jimako Venderie (6g Bilibili) completed the  top five.
