Grindel Wald wins Prix 20 Minutes at Paris-Vincennes

On the Paris Prize undercard this day was the Prix 20 Minutes (purse 68,000, 2100 meters autostart, 14 European starters ages 7-11) and 3.8/1 Grindel Wald (8f Rieussec-Pompadour) scored in a sharp 1.10.3kr with Matthieu Abrivard driving.

Marylise Comolet owns the now 10 time winner in 78 starts that L.C. Abrivard trains. Grindel has now won 347,340€ and has four victories in her last six appearances. Ginko Thelois (8g Quif de Villeneuve-Suzy Theloise) was second beaten two lengths at 31/1 odds with Franck Nivard teaming the Franck Leblanc trainee for Ecurie Andre Carree. Home third was 4.1/1 Here We Go (7g Royal Dream-Vendetta de Josselyn) reined by his owner/trainer Julien Dubois.

In the Prix Vivier de Montfort (monte, purse 90,000€, 2700 meters, 10 starters ages 7-11) the 3.1/1 odds Gala d’Urfist (8g Un Charme Fou-Royale d’Urfist) scored timed in 1.12.4kr with Adrien Lamy the jockey for trainer Franck Leblanc. The winner ow has 16 career wins in 70 starts for 339,770€ earned. Halfa (7f Offshore Dream) was second as the 1.9/1 favorite ridden by Alan Gendrot for owner/trainer Stephane Levoy. Galet Sted (8g Paris Haufor) was third for jockey Anthony Barrier.

In the Gr. III Prix de la Mayenne (purse 90,000€, 2700 meters, 16 European 5–6-year-old starters) the 9/10 odds favorite Indigo de Fontaine (6g Niky-Soline de Fontaine) prevailed by a length timed in 1.13.2kr, Leo Abrivard was the winning pilot for trainer L.C. Abrivard and owner Jean Pierre Barjon. This one now has 14 victories in 22 starts for 313,450€ earned. Ibiscus Man (6g Booster Winner) was a closing second for trainer/driver Romain Charles Larue at 15/1 odds. Third was 16/1 Bergan (5m Django Riff) handled by Matthieu Abrivard for trainer Daniel Reden and Brixton Medical.

Earlier in the Prix d’Aigueperse (purse 51,000, 2700 meters, 11 three-year-old females at the start) the well-regarded Liza Josselyn (3f Ready Cash-Belina Josselyn-Love You) scored in 1.15.2kr for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire and owner/breeder Ecurie Yvan Bernard. This will recorded her third win in four career starts now for earnings of 46,800€. She defeated 4.2/1 Layla (3f Saxo de Vandel) driven by Matthieu Abrivard.

Several points from yesterday’s Prix de Paris, the winning driver Yoann Lebourgeois recorded his 25^th Gr. I victory and the race handle exceeded 4.6 million euro.

Next Saturday March 2 Vincennes racecourse will present the 240,000€ purse Gr. I Prix de Selection, the 240,000€ Gr. I Pric des Centaures and the Gr I Prix Henri Desmontils also for the 240,000€ purse. Quite a race day it will be.
