120,000£ Prix Joseph Lafosse monte won in tight finish

Hannah (5f Vulcain de Vandel-Rocca Chica) rallied late on the outside to win the Gr. II monte Prix Joseph Lafosse (purse 120,000£, 2700 meters for international five year olds) timed in 1.13.4kr on Thursday, November 18.

Benjamin Rochard was the winning harness racing jockey for trainer J.F. Senet and Ecurie JS as the 9/1 odds Hannah won for the second time and advanced her career earnings to 194,387£.

The 10/1 Chandelles (5f Maharajah-Golden Feline) rallied between rivals to be second with Matilde Herleiksplass at the lines for trainer Jean Michel Bazire. Happy And Lucky (5f Ready Cash-Tasalima) held third on the pegs for Adrien Lamy and trainer Franck Leblanc, she the 6/10 favorite.

On Sunday at Vincennes there will be four groupe tests as shown below including the Gr. II Prix Bretagne – Amerique Q1 for International 4-10 year olds raced over 2700 meters for 120,000£ total purse. That lineup follows.

The other groupe races are the Prix Ceneri Forcinal (Gr. II, monte, 2700 meters for 120,000£, four year olds International); Prix de Boissy Saint Leger (Gr. III, European 4-5 year olds, 2100 meters autostart, 80,000£ purse); Prix Guy Deloison (Gr. II International for three year olds, 2700 meters, purse 120,000£, the first qualifier for the four-year-old championship in 2023).

Filwell (7g Qwerty-Regence) set the pace and then held on gamely at 3/1 odds to win the Gr. III monte Prix de L’Ile d’Oleron (purse 90,000£, 2850 meters for European 5-10 year olds) at Paris-Vincennes timed in 1.12.9kr on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

Camille Levesque was his jockey for breeder/owner/trainer Pierre Levesque as Filwill won for the 15^th time to advance his career earnings to 343,360£.

The 18/1 Fiaschetto (7g Ubriaco-Andalouse Lady) was second along the inside for jockey Sebasstien Emmanuel Pasquier and trainer Patrick Terry. Well back third was 1.2/1 Fakir de L’Ecluse (7g Chef du Chatelet) took third for jockey Alexandre Abrivard and trainer L.C. Abrivard.
