Today’s (June 30) Trophee Vert eighth leg was the Grand Prix de la Ville de Sable Sur Sarthe in France (purse 50,000€, 2800 meters distance handicap, 18 starters ages 6-10) was raced on the turf.
The 3.6/1 odds and 25-meter handicapped Hedic Gema (7g Akim de Cap Vert-Cybelle Gede) scored in 1.17.6kr with a great stretch rush engineered by driver Benjamin Rochard, the engineer for Marc Sassier the trainer/owner. Marie Annick Sassier bred this 15-time winner in 48 starts for 310,810€ earned.
Idefix de Cabtule (6m Vary Nice Marceaux) was second at 6.7/1 with Tony LeBeller the trainer/driver/owner. Harry Carisaie (7g Viking de Val) was third at 10/1 overcoming a 25-meter handicap and reined by Nicolas Bazire for J.E. Thuet the trainer/owner/breeder.

Earlier on the program was the Prix Michel Bazire (purse 14,000€, 2825 meters, 12 three-year-old male starters) and for the 12th time in 14 editions JMB was the winner this time with his trainee L’Amour (3m Fabulous Wood-Divine Providence-Goetmals Wood) that Ecurie Hazelaar owns. This was the winner’s first start after a qualifier in October.
Stablemate Leon Seven (3m Ready Cash-Sirella-Love You) was second with Nicolas Bazire the reinsman. Third was Lombardo (3g Feeling Cash) with trainer Matthieu Abrivard the pilot.
Earlier it was announced that Jushua Tree will have his return to racing delayed per trainer JMB.
