Herodo Bello shines at Bordeaux

Herodo Bello (6g Tornado Bello-Serenity Jiel) took the Grand Prix Bordeaux Metropole (purse 39,000€, monte, 2650 meters, European 6–11-year-olds) at Bordeaux le Bouscat in France, timed in 1.13.7kr.

Eric Raffin was the winning harness racing jockey of this 11-time winner of 144,930€. Christophe Feyte trains the winner that was off at 2.4/1 odds. Eroica Bello (9g Un Mec d’Heripre) was second at 3.8/1 with Florian Desmigneux in the irons for trainer J.P. Marmion, he a noted monte conditioner. Dierlov Volo (10g So Lovely Girl) was third at 7.1/1 with Sandy Treich aboard.

In the Grand Prix des Trotteurs Dynavena (purse 39,000€, 2650 meters for 6–10-year-olds, the Circuit des Grandes Epreuvre du Sud-Quest) the 1.12.7kr timed winner was the 8/10 favorite Face Time (8g Coktail Jet-Netchka d’Orgeres.

Matthieu Abrivard trains and drove Face Time to his 18^th career win for 321,060€ earned. JPB Horses owns this one that defeated 2.2 d/1 Douglasu Pont (10g Real de Lou) with Robin Bouvier driving and the third finishing 29/1 Eliska Berry (9f Rocklyn-Osaka Berry) handled by Gabriel Monthule. The mare Osaka Berry was a 14 time winner of 263,740€ and the dam of Hooker Berry, the 2023 Amerique winner and a 13 time winner of 1,483,520€.

Early in the card was the Prix Roquepine (purse 27,000€, 2650 meters distance handicap, three year olds, the LeTrotOpen  des Regions). The 2.9/1 odds Kronos du Klau (3m Django Rif-Pearl Winner) scored in 1.15.9kr overcoming a 25-meter handicap.

Cedric Parys, the owner and driver, was in charge for trainer Tomas Malmqvist as Kronos du Klau recorded his second career victory now for 24,900€ earned.

42/1 Kid Parker (3g Bird Parker) was a distant second for F youngsters, both owned by Jean Pierre Dubois were fourth and fifth. Fourth was Kentucky Wood (3m Follow You-Anna ranck Marty with 51/1 Kara des Brousses (3f Captain Crazy) third for Antoine De Vaugiraud. Two 25-meter handicapped youngsters, both owned by Jean Pierre Dubois were fourth and fifth. Fourth was Kentucky Wood (3m Follow You-Anna Maria-Love You) with JPD driving. Fifth was King Gate (3m Follow You-Douchka Love-Love You) with another legend, Richard William Denechere at the lines.

In the 2002 Trot Mondiale, Denechere bred/trained and drove the 45/1 odds winner Fan Idole in defeating Varenne.

Fan Idole had quite a year in 2002 and for the career she achieved 43 wins, earnings of 2,184,369€ and a 1.09.8kr record. Quite an achievement for the 1993 foaled daughter of Le Ham-Ton Idole that R.W. Denechere bred. Interestingly Denechere and JPD are FR legends with career stats shown below (wins, starts, winning percentage):
