Today’s (Sunday) Paris-Vincennes program featured four groupe harness racing events with two being Prix d’Amerique qualifiers.
Early in the card was the Prix Leon Tacquet (Gr.III monte, purse 80,000€, 2175 meters for European four-year olds) and Bolero Gar (4m Varenne-Nike Gar) scored in 1.11.3kr off rapid fractions for jockey P.Ph. Ploquin, trainer Fabrice Souloy and owner Massimo Finetti. This was his third win in FR and his life earnings advanced to 231,356€.
Hacker Boy (4g Akim du Cap Vert) took second for Eric Raffin ahead of Hytte du Terroir (4f Boccador de Simm) with Alexandre Abrivard in the irons.
The Criterium Continental (Qualifier 3 Prix d’Amerique, Gr. I, 2100 meters autostart, 100,000€ International four year olds, 17 starters) saw 2.7/1 Hohneck (4m Royal Dream-Caranca) score in 1.10.4kr for reinsman Francois Lagadeuc, owner/trainer Philippe Allaire and J.P. Guay was the breeder. This was his 13th victory now for life earnings of 647,790€.
The 25/1 Hussard du Landret (4m Bird Parker) was second for owner/trainer/driver Benoit Robin. Hooker Berry (4m Booster Winner) was third at 7.1/1 for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire. 49/1 Bleff Depa (4m Mister JP) was fourth handled by Pierre Levesque. Helgafel (4m Charly de Noyer) was fifth.
The winner of this race earned a berth in the 2022 Prix d’Amerique.
The Gr. I Prix de Vincennes (200,000€ purse, 2700 meters, monte three-year olds, 13 starters) produced an impressive Ideale du Chene (3f Bird Parker-Royale du Chene) victory for jockey Paul Ploquin, trainer Julien Le Mar and owner/breeder Claude Guedj. Ideale won for the fourth time now for 264,050€. Race time was 1.13.2kr.
Ines des Rioults (3f Carat Williams) was second with Florian Desmigneux in the irons for trainer J. F. Senet. Third home was Indigo de Poret (3m Dollar Macker) with Eric Raffin aboard.
The Gr. II Prix Tenor de Baune (Amerique qualifier 4, purse 100,000€, International five-year olds, 12 starters) went to the 6.5/1 odds impressive Galius (5m Love You-Star de Villeneuve) handled by Yoann Lebourgeois for breeder/owner/trainer Severine Raimond. This was his 16th victory for career earnings of 383,300€. Race time was 1.12.5kr.
The 3.5/1 Empire (5m Vasterbo Prestige-Gossip Gal) was next for Eric Raffin and 3.8/1 Ganary de Banville (5m Jasmin de Flore) took third for owner/trainer Jean Michel Bazire. Power (5m Googoo Gaagaa) was fourth for Robert Bergh. Ampia Mede SM was a miscue dq.
