The ’23 Elitloppet winner Hohneck (7m Royal Dream-Caranca-Ready Cash) took today’s (July 13) Prix de Washington at Enghien clocked in 1.09.3kr (mile time 1:51.5) to earn 54,000€ from the 120,000€ purse in this 1609 meters autostart contest.
Off at 2,2/1 odds the Gabriele Gelormini driven Philippe Allaire trained and owned veteran was in control most of the way and held off 1.4/1 odds favorite Go On Boy (8m Password-Balginette) by a length on the line. Romain Derieux trains and drove Go On Boy for Ecurie Nixxon. Ampia Mede SM (8g Ganymede-Polimpia Slide SM) was third at 6.2/1 in her comeback after a four-month layoff with Theo Duvaldestin aboard for her new trainer Thierry Duvaldestin, Elvis du Vallon (10m Reve de Beylev) at 13/1 was fourth ahead of 7.7/1 Just A Gigolo (5m Boccador de Simm).

The Prix du Palais de Chaillot (purse 75,000€, 2875 meters volte start, 16 European starters) on the Enghien card saw 3,2/1 odds Harley Gema (7f Bold Eagle-Reedite Gede-Buvetier d’Aunou) rally late for a narrow victory timed in 1.13.6kr with Guillaume Martin at the lines.
This was the winner’s 14th career victory in 47 starts for 403,970€ earned. Marc Sassier trains and owns the winner that Marie Sassier bred. Espace Winner (10g Prince d’Espace) was second in the three-horse photo at 142/1 odds with Leo Abrivard driving this L.C. Abrivard trainee. LCA bred this one and Olivier Ponzio is the owner.
