Hohneck flies in French group II

Hohneck (5m Royal Dream-Caranca-Ready Cash) followed leaders with cover until circling to the lead and drawing off in the lane for victory in the Gr. II International Prix de Croix (purse 120,000€, 2850 meters for five year olds). Francois Lagadeuc teamed the 1.5/1 odds Hohneck for owner/trainer Philippe Allaire and breeder J. P. Guay. He won for the 14th time good for 701,790€ in career earnings. Race time was 1.13.6kr off rated fractions. Hohneck is a grand gaited trotter with solid potential and has earned an Amerique invite previously. The 3.1/1 odds Hooker Berry (5m Booster Winner-Osaka Berry) was second for Jean Michel Bazire and owner Michel Aldenise. Third was 10/1 Sayonara (5f Donato Hanover-Moviestar-Juliano Star) reined by Bjorn Boop for owner/trainer Fredrik Wallin.

On the card was also the Prix du Forez (Gr. III, purse 90,000€, 2700 meters for 7-11 year olds) and the 8/10 odds favorite Elie de Beaufour (8g Royal Dream-Pignata) scored in 1.11.1kr for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire and owner Eric Levallois. Elie won for the 24th time in his career now for 571,600€ earned. He won his second straight. The 12/1 odds Fire Cracker (7g Quaro) was second for Eric Raffin, Ecurie La Pinsonniere and trainer Louis Baudron, Third was 21/1 Viola de Muze (8m Royal Dream) handled by Franck Ouvrie for Union Stable and trainer Sebastien Guarato.
